Weekend courier for Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays
We collect and deliver on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, using the same dedicated vans as on a weekday. The harder part is usually the other end, so we help you make sure someone is there to receive.

The same dedicated service, on any day
A Saturday, Sunday or bank holiday job with us is the same as a Tuesday job. One van and one driver collect your goods and take them straight to the delivery address, with no depot in between. You get live updates during the job and signed proof of delivery when it is done. Goods in transit insurance cover applies as standard, with cover limits and exclusions set out in our terms. Tell us the value when booking and we will confirm cover, or arrange additional cover for high-value goods.
We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including bank holidays. A same-day urgent job on a Sunday morning is booked in the same way as one on a weekday.
The real weekend problem is usually the other end
Vans run at weekends. Receiving sites often do not. Most weekend jobs that go wrong fail at the delivery address: the goods-in door is shut, the office reception is closed, or the security guard on site will not sign for anything that is not on their list.
Before you book, check that the delivery end can actually take the goods.
Before a weekend delivery
- A named person will be on site at the delivery time, and you have their mobile number
- Site security knows a delivery is expected, and who it is for
- Gates, car parks and service yards are open, or someone can open them
- There is a way to unload: a dock, a lift or enough people for heavy items
- You have a fall-back person if the first contact cannot attend
Shopping centres and large office buildings often have restricted weekend service-yard hours, so ask the building manager rather than the tenant. For homes the problem is reversed: people are usually in at weekends, so residential deliveries are often easier than on a weekday.
Retail and events at the weekend
Weekends are trading days for shops, and many of our weekend jobs are retail and ecommerce work: extra stock for a busy Saturday, display kit for a window change, or a transfer between branches when one store has sold out of a line.
In England and Wales, large shops can only open for six hours on a Sunday and must close on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. Their goods-in teams may keep shorter hours too, so check when the store can take a delivery, not just when it opens to customers.
Events are the other big weekend use. Weddings, festivals, sports fixtures and conferences that open on a Saturday all need kit delivered on the day or the night before. Our events and exhibitions page covers venue access and booking slots.
Emergency repairs over the weekend
Equipment fails on Saturdays as often as on Mondays. Many factories also schedule planned maintenance for weekends, when production is stopped, and a missing part can hold up the whole shutdown.
We can collect a replacement part and take it straight to the site. The usual obstacle is the supplier rather than the van: their trade counter or warehouse may be shut. Ask whether someone can open up and release the part, and give us their name and number. If the part is coming from a closed office, a key holder who can meet the driver will usually solve it.
A replacement server for an office in Leeds, a pump for a commercial kitchen in Sheffield or a gearbox for a weekend shutdown at a plant in Telford are all typical weekend jobs.
Christmas, Easter and bank holiday planning
Bank holidays cause more problems than ordinary weekends, because whole sectors close for several days in a row. Upcoming dates include:
| Date | Bank holiday | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 30 November 2026 | St Andrew's Day | Scotland |
| 25 December 2026 | Christmas Day | England, Wales, Scotland |
| 28 December 2026 | Boxing Day (substitute day) | England, Wales, Scotland |
| 1 January 2027 | New Year's Day | England, Wales, Scotland |
| 4 January 2027 | 2 January (substitute day) | Scotland |
| 26 March 2027 | Good Friday | England, Wales, Scotland |
| 29 March 2027 | Easter Monday | England and Wales |
Source: GOV.UK bank holidays. Scotland and England have different holidays, so a delivery from Manchester to Glasgow on 4 January 2027 lands on a working day at one end and a holiday at the other.
Around Christmas, many businesses close from Christmas Eve until after New Year. If something has to arrive in that gap, agree it with the recipient well in advance and get a named person and mobile number. Parcel networks also scale back over the holiday, which is when a dedicated van is often the only way to move something quickly.
Weekend rates
Rates for Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays are confirmed in your quote, along with distance, vehicle and timing. Tell us the date and time when you ask for a price, so the figure is right first time. If the weekend timing is flexible, ask us to price an early Monday delivery with our overnight courier service as well, and choose between them.
Our guide to common causes of courier delays has more on avoiding failed deliveries.
FAQ
Common questions
Do you really collect and deliver on a Sunday?
Yes. We run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including Sundays and bank holidays. A Sunday job is booked, quoted and run in the same way as a weekday one, with a dedicated van, live updates and signed proof of delivery. Some parcel networks offer limited or no Sunday service, which is often why people come to us.
Does a weekend courier cost more?
Rates for Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays are confirmed in your quote, alongside distance, vehicle and timing. The price you agree before collection is the price you pay for the job as booked. Tell us the date when you ask for a quote, so the figure you see is the right one.
Should I book a Saturday delivery on Friday, or can I leave it?
You can book at any time, including on the day. Booking ahead gives us more choice of vehicles, which matters if you need a Luton with a tail lift or a refrigerated van. More often, the reason to plan ahead is the delivery end: you need time to confirm that someone will be there to sign.
Can you deliver to a business that is closed at the weekend?
Only if someone can receive the goods. That might be a key holder, a site security team or a member of staff who agrees to come in. We will not leave goods outside closed premises without your written instructions. If nobody can be there, a Monday early-morning delivery is often the better plan.
Do you work on Christmas Day and Boxing Day?
Yes, we operate on every bank holiday, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. The practical limits are the same as any closed-business day: someone has to be at both ends. Book Christmas-period jobs as early as you can and confirm the receiver directly, because many sites close for the whole week.
Can you deliver to a home address on a Saturday?
Yes. Weekend deliveries to homes are often easier than weekday ones, because people are in. Give us the recipient's mobile number so the driver can call ahead, and mention parking, stairs or narrow access. Signed proof of delivery applies just as it does for business addresses.
