One conurbation, three towns
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole run into each other along the coast, and they now share a single unitary council. For courier work they behave like one city of around 400,000 people with a few distinct centres. Bournemouth town centre and Lansdowne are the office and retail core. Poole has the harbour, the port and most of the marine industry. Christchurch, Ferndown and the airport at Hurn have much of the industrial land.
Every job is a dedicated van, collecting your consignment and driving directly to the delivery address. When you contact us, we find the nearest suitable vehicle, confirm an estimated collection time, and keep you updated during the run.
Finance and insurance offices
Financial services are one of Bournemouth's biggest employers. Banks, insurers and investment firms have large offices in and around the town centre and Lansdowne, along with the support businesses that serve them.
Urgent work from this sector is mostly documents and equipment. Signed agreements, original deeds and compliance files need to arrive at a specific address with a signature, which a legal and financial courier booking covers. Servers, laptops and network equipment for office moves or disaster recovery go by IT equipment courier, packed and secured.
Industrial estates and the airport
Ferndown, just north of the conurbation in Dorset, has the largest industrial area in East Dorset: the Ferndown Industrial Estate, Uddens Trading Estate and East Dorset Trade Park. It houses manufacturers, distributors and trade businesses. Bournemouth Airport at Hurn, a few miles east, has a business park with aviation, aerospace and engineering firms. In Poole, the Nuffield Industrial Estate and the area around the port add manufacturing and trade.
Ferndown and Hurn collections
The estates around Ferndown and the airport are close to the A31 and A338, which is good for getting away quickly. Have the goods ready at the front of the unit, with the delivery address and contact name on the paperwork, so the van is back on the A31 in minutes rather than waiting in the yard.
Poole Harbour and marine work
Poole is a centre for boatbuilding, including Sunseeker, and has a cluster of marine engineers, chandlers, sailmakers and suppliers around the harbour. The port handles freight and passenger ferries. Typical urgent jobs include a replacement engine part for a yacht due for handover, upholstery returning from a supplier in the Midlands, or electronics from a specialist distributor.
Long and awkward items need the right vehicle. Our van size guide gives typical load lengths, and the large item courier page explains how bulky consignments are handled.

Hospitals, universities and events
The Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital are the two main hospitals. Bournemouth University's Talbot Campus sits between the two towns, and the Arts University Bournemouth is nearby. The Bournemouth International Centre on the seafront hosts conferences, exhibitions and concerts, so stand kits, staging and display materials regularly need delivering to a timed slot.
Roads and seasons
The conurbation has no motorway. The A338 Wessex Way is the main road in from the north, joining the A31 near Ringwood, and the A31 carries most traffic east to the M27 and Southampton. The A35 runs west towards Dorchester, and the A348 and A350 head north from Poole. In summer, beach traffic slows the coastal roads and the A31 significantly, so we plan collections and deliveries around it where the deadline allows.

FAQ
Common questions
How long does it take to get from Bournemouth to the M27?
The A338 Wessex Way runs north from the town to the A31 near Ringwood, and the A31 continues east to the M27 at Cadnam. In normal traffic that is roughly half an hour, but the A31 around Ringwood is a known bottleneck, particularly on summer weekends and Friday afternoons. We take that into account when estimating a delivery time to Southampton, London or the Midlands.
Can you move servers and laptops between our Bournemouth offices and a data centre?
Yes. Many of the financial and insurance firms in Bournemouth run their own IT estates, and replacement hardware or equipment for a site move often needs to travel the same day. Our IT equipment courier service sends a van with the equipment secured and the recipient named. Tell us the number of items, whether they are in transit cases and the access arrangements at both ends.
Do you collect from boatyards and marine businesses around Poole Harbour?
Yes, as long as a van can reach a loading point. Yards on the harbour often have restricted access, a single shared quay or height limits, so tell us which entrance to use. Long items such as rails, masts or cushions for a refit need a long-wheelbase or Luton van; give us the dimensions and we will match the vehicle.
We sometimes send goods to Jersey or Cowes. Can you take those from Poole?
Not as part of our standard service, which covers mainland Britain. Both involve a ferry crossing and separate arrangements. If you need goods taken to a ferry port such as Poole, Lymington or Portsmouth for onward shipping that you have arranged, we can do that. Ask us before booking.
We are exhibiting at the BIC. Can you deliver our stand on the morning of build-up?
Yes. Venues like the Bournemouth International Centre usually allocate delivery slots and loading bay times, so get those from the organiser and give us the stand number and a contact on site. A Luton van with a tail lift suits most stand kits. Our events and exhibitions courier page explains how build-up and breakdown deliveries work.
