Leamington consignments are often small, valuable and late

Much of what leaves Leamington Spa fits in a car boot: a box of development hardware, a prototype bracket, a folder of signed agreements. What makes it a courier job is the value and the deadline. A studio needs test kit at a publisher's office before a sign-off meeting, or a supplier needs a part on a bench at Gaydon by the afternoon.

For that kind of work we send a dedicated van. It collects from your studio, unit or office, carries nothing else, and drives directly to the delivery address. You get live updates on the way and a signed proof of delivery naming who took it. When you book, we tell you the estimated collection time based on where the nearest suitable van is.

Games studios and creative tech

Leamington has become one of the UK's best-known centres for video game development, sometimes nicknamed Silicon Spa. Playground Games, the studio behind the Forza Horizon series, and Ubisoft Leamington are both here, alongside many smaller developers, art and audio studios and tech firms.

The courier work this cluster creates is distinctive:

  • Development kits, test consoles and high-spec PCs going to publishers, testers or partner studios
  • Motion capture, camera and audio equipment travelling to and from shoots
  • Stand kit, screens and demo hardware for trade shows and press events
  • Replacement workstations and servers when hardware fails at a critical point in a project

Electronics need firm boxes, plenty of padding and clear labelling, and screens travel upright. Our IT equipment courier page sets out how we move computer kit, and stand builds are covered on our events and exhibitions courier page.

How close is Leamington Spa to the automotive industry?

Very close. Aston Martin's headquarters and a Jaguar Land Rover engineering centre are at Gaydon, around 10 miles south off the M40. Coventry, with JLR's main engineering base at Whitley and its wider supply chain, is about 10 miles north. Many Leamington and Warwick firms supply parts, tooling or engineering services to both.

That puts a lot of prototype parts, test samples, fixtures and drawings on the road between Leamington, Gaydon and Coventry. These items are often one-offs, so a direct van with one driver keeps the chain of handling short. Line-side and supplier work is covered on our automotive courier page.

Confidential parts

If a part belongs to an unreleased model, label it with a project reference rather than a description, and give the driver one named person to hand it to. The proof of delivery then shows exactly who received it.

Business parks, the hospital and the town centre

Commercial work in the district clusters on the business parks and estates around the southern edge of Leamington and Warwick, including Tachbrook Park, Warwick Technology Park and the Heathcote area, all close to M40 junctions 13 and 14. Offices in the Regency town centre and along the Parade add a steady flow of legal, financial and property paperwork.

Warwick Hospital on Lakin Road is the main acute hospital for south Warwickshire. For hospital deliveries, give us the department and recipient, and have samples packaged by the sender to the standard required. The University of Warwick lies a few miles north on the edge of Coventry.

Roads around Leamington and Warwick

The M40 skirts the south of the district, with junction 13 serving south Leamington, junction 14 near Warwick and junction 15 at Longbridge, where it meets the A46 to Coventry and Stratford-upon-Avon. The A452 runs north to Kenilworth, and the A425 heads east to Southam.

The awkward points are the Longbridge roundabout at junction 15 at peak times, the town centre one-way streets around the Parade, and Warwick's narrow approaches near the castle, which slow larger vans in particular.

FAQ

Common questions

We are a games studio in Leamington. Can you take development kits and test PCs to a showcase in London?

Yes. Central London is about 95 road miles away via the M40, so a morning collection usually arrives by early afternoon. Tell us the number of boxes, the venue's loading bay and access times, and the on-site contact. Have the hardware boxed and labelled, and tell us its value so we can confirm cover. Our IT equipment courier page has packing advice.

Can you deliver a prototype part to the engineering site at Gaydon?

Yes. Gaydon is around 10 miles south of Leamington, next to junction 12 of the M40. Sites there control access closely, so give us the gate or goods-in point, the recipient's name and any delivery reference or booking number they issue. Without those, the van may be held at the gatehouse while someone is found.

Can you collect from Warwick and Kenilworth too?

Yes. Warwick, Kenilworth, Whitnash, Southam and the villages across Warwick district are covered in exactly the same way as Leamington. Each job gets a dedicated van, and we confirm an estimated collection time based on where the nearest suitable vehicle is when you book.

Our stand kit needs to reach a games trade show in Germany. Can you drive it there?

Yes, through our direct road service into Europe. A van collects in Leamington and travels to the venue, but the goods need customs paperwork: a commercial invoice, an EORI number and commodity codes, with declarations made by a customs agent. Book well ahead of the build-up day. Our European courier page explains the process.
