Most Wycombe jobs start or finish on the M40
High Wycombe sits in a narrow Chiltern valley, with the M40 running along the southern ridge. Junction 4 at Handy Cross links the motorway to the A404 for Marlow and the Thames Valley, and junction 3 at Loudwater serves the eastern side of the town. That position is the reason so much of our Wycombe work is a straight run: London is close, Heathrow closer still, and Oxford and Birmingham are both direct up the same motorway.
The town itself is harder going. The A40 runs through the valley floor, the centre has a one-way system, and many streets climb steeply out of it. A van collecting from a Victorian terrace in the middle of town and one collecting from a modern unit near Handy Cross have very different first ten minutes.
Cressex, Sands and the western side of town
Most of Wycombe's industrial and trade activity is on the western side. Cressex Business Park and the surrounding estates hold distributors, engineering firms, printers and trade counters, and the Sands Industrial Estate further along the valley adds smaller workshops and manufacturers. Wycombe Air Park at Booker is nearby.
Urgent consignments from these sites tend to be practical: a replacement motor for a customer's production line, a batch of printed material for an exhibition, or a few pallets that missed a network collection. For anything palletised or heavy, our light haulage and tail-lift service covers vans up to Luton size, which suits sites without a loading dock.
Before the van arrives at a Cressex unit
Have the goods at the front of the unit, labelled with the delivery address and a contact name. Give us the unit number as well as the estate name: several estates share road names and postcodes, and a driver hunting for the right door is time you do not get back.
Furniture and bedding
Wycombe was once the chair-making capital of England, and furniture is still part of the local economy. Makers, upholsterers, restorers and bedding firms in the town and out towards Princes Risborough send finished pieces to showrooms, trade customers and homes.
Furniture is bulky rather than heavy, and damage usually happens at the loading stage, not on the road. A dedicated vehicle helps because the piece is loaded once and unloaded once, with no depot handling in between. Our furniture courier page explains wrapping, measuring doorways and what to tell us about access at the delivery end. If you are not sure which vehicle fits, the van size guide lists typical load lengths and heights.

Heathrow, London and the studios
From Wycombe, the M40 meets the M25 at junction 1A, a few minutes from Heathrow and from the film studios at Pinewood and Denham. That makes Wycombe a common starting point for airport cargo agents' deliveries, studio equipment runs and documents for central London offices. We deliver landside only at Heathrow; see our Heathrow courier page for how forwarder deliveries work.
Closer to home, Wycombe Hospital and Buckinghamshire New University both generate occasional urgent consignments, from equipment and documents to supplies between sites in the county.

FAQ
Common questions
We make upholstered chairs near High Wycombe. Can a finished order go to a London showroom the same afternoon?
Yes. Central London is about 30 miles down the M40 and A40, so a late-morning collection usually leaves plenty of time. Upholstered pieces should be wrapped in blankets or stretch film with the legs protected, and each item labelled. Tell us how many pieces there are and their largest dimensions so we send a van with enough length and height; a Luton with a tail lift is usually the right call for sofas and larger chairs.
Can you collect from a unit up the hill at Cressex and avoid the town centre traffic?
Usually. Cressex and the Sands estates sit on the western side of town, close to the A404 and M40 junction 4 at Handy Cross, so a van leaving for the motorway rarely needs to go through the centre. If the delivery is in the east of town or towards Amersham, the A40 and the one-way system come into play and the driver plans for that.
Our film equipment hire business needs kit taken to Pinewood before a call time. Is that a sensible job for you?
Yes. Pinewood Studios at Iver is roughly 15 miles from High Wycombe via the M40 and junction 1. Give us the gate, the stage or building, the production contact and the call time, and tell us about any studio booking reference. Our film and TV production courier page explains how we handle studio and location drops.
Do you cover Marlow, Beaconsfield and Princes Risborough as well?
Yes. We collect from and deliver to anywhere in mainland UK, so the towns and villages around Wycombe, including Marlow, Beaconsfield, Princes Risborough, Hazlemere and Stokenchurch, are covered in exactly the same way. Some Chiltern lanes are narrow, so mention any width or weight limit on the approach when you book.
